Service pack installations are very easy (cross your fingers - maybe we should say that they probably are very easy!) and THANK YOU to the folks at Microsoft for making it so easy. Still, you'll want to have a certain level of comfort with the installation before you have to go do it yourself, right?
This series focuses specifically on installing Service Pack 2 for SQL Server 2005 and, if you will be installing SP1 or another service pack, the screens may be a bit different.

Helpful Keyboard Shortcuts: "CTRL" + "ESC" displays the Start Menu
Security Tip: Do not allow applications to issue SELECT,INSERT,UPDATE, or DELETE statements to your database. Instead create a set of stored procedures and require that your applications use these "interfaces" into your database
What query would return the first day of this month? SELECT DATENAME(dw, DATEADD(dd, - DATEPART(dd, GETDATE()) + 1, GETDATE())) AS FirstDay
